Goals for our Ministry with Children and Youth

We provide a foundation that includes a body of knowledge about our own and other faith traditions.  The core curricula, the worship experiences, and other activities present a wide-ranging body of information that we hope will help our children and youth

  • learn about the Bible and our Jewish and Christian heritage;
  • find out about religions that have contributed to other world views; and
  • know the liberal tradition of Unitarian Universalism and the individuals responsible for the growth of the Association of Unitarian Universalism Congregations.

Through the church school covenant, classroom discussions, and other activities, it is our goal to help them

  • understand the connection between our faith and our actions;
  • have a sense of self worth in order to affirm the worth of others;
  • become involved in and committed to social justice as well as to participate in individual and group service projects;
  • develop a sense of community through intergenerational activities; and
  • develop an approach that includes change and growth throughout life.

OWLOne program is OWL -- Our Whole Lives -- which is a series of sexuality education curricula for five age groups: grades K-1, grades 4-6, grades 7-9, grades 10-12, and adults. It is provided by the UUA, and jointly developed with experts from a wide variety of disciplines and views.
