Unitarian Universalism has no creed, liturgical calendar, or central authority to dictate how we worship; thus, each congregation has an opportunity to make choices that reflect its own character. The Worship and Music Committee at UU Wellesley consists of lay members who meet monthly with the Interim Senior Minister and the Music Director to set goals and provide feedback. Like other UU Wellesley committees, Worship and Music has developed a mission statement to guide its work:

  • To support an integrated worship/music program that fosters meaningful worship experiences throughout the life of the congregation;
  • To infuse music and other arts into congregational life beyond Sunday morning worship;
  • To create and maintain a process of reflection and communication to address the diverse needs of the congregation in relationship to the worship and music program.
